TEOC was founded by MICHAEL R. TILLOTSON

Mike has a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health from Ferris State College and a Master's Degree in Industrial Hygiene from Wayne State University. Mike was a Certified Industrial Hygienist from 1977 thur 2018. Mike is certified in all asbestos disciplines and recently became certified as a Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor. He has a comprehensive Occupational and Environmental background since entering the field of Environmental/Occupational Health in 1969.

Mike developed the Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene program at Ferris State University. He served as Associate Professor in Occupational Health (Industrial Hygiene), Occupational Safety, and Environmental Health for eleven years at Ferris State University and is currently an Adjunct Professor for Ferris, providing oversight of external degree students. Mike has more than 20 years of experience developing and providing training for adult learners in environmental/occupational settings. Mike has also developed and presented training courses on Train-the-Trainer related to adult learners. Mike has over 100 graduates working in the field of Occupational Health and Safety, which gives him a resource very few people have access to.

Mike has monitored/managed/developed specifications for a number of asbestos abatement projects. He has developed all EPA AHERA asbestos courses which are specifically designed for the adult learner. He has also personally completed a number of EPA AHERA Inspection/Management Plans which were accepted by the State of Michigan.

Mike has developed programs and conducted Hazard Communication training for numerous companies. He has worked with the Michigan Chamber of Commerce presenting programs on "How to Comply" with the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard for companies trying to comply with the standard.

Mike was a consultant/instructor with Michigan State University Community Education programs providing compliance assistance and training programs for Hazardous Waste Generators. He has developed a comprehensive 24/40/48 hour HAZWOP course for adult learners and has also acted as the Site Health and Safety Supervisor on a number of MDEGLE Part 121/EPA Superfund sites. He has also developed/written Site Specific Health and Safety Plans, as well as HAZWOP Safety and Health Programs for consulting engineering firms.

Mike has developed/presented a significant number of OSHA HAZWOPER EMERGENCY RESPONSE training programs including all five levels of Emergency Response. He has consulted with and customized these programs for utility companies, manufacturing facilities, chemical manufacturing facilities and colleges/universities.

Mike's combination of education and experience provides TEOC with a broad range of quality environmental/occupational expertise.
